New Campaign, New Website

As Susan kicks off her campaign for reelection as Comptroller of Public Accounts today, we have also launched a new website with a new feature: a blog that allows us to relay the latest news and events, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, that allows us to hear from you – your ideas, concerns, and more.

Before I go any further, let me introduce myself. My name is Courtney Sanders and I am Susan Combs’ Grassroots Director. I will be working with Susan’s supporters to organize precincts, counties and regions of the state critical to turning out a strong vote for the comptroller.

Susan made her announcement this morning at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin. She discussed her strong record of fiscal reform – including eliminating $40 million in duplicative and unnecessary spending – investing in education and a stronger workforce, and empowering taxpayers by making spending more transparent. Susan also discussed her vision of reviewing even more state spending for waste, making Texas more energy efficient, and creating greater educational opportunities.

It was a great event with a lot of Susan’s supporters there to cheer her on. We are excited about 2010 and are really looking to the fun months ahead. We especially want to hear from you, so send us your comments to this post. Thank you.

the train is leaving the station

I am glad, now that session is behind us, Comptroller Combs is freed up to take her message on the road: that she has saved you money, made government more accountable by making it more transparent, and worked to fund the right education initiatives to prepare more Texans for the workforce of the future. Let the campaign begin!
