1,197 active and concerned Texans are now following Susan through the social media site, Twitter, to stay up-to-date on the latest news and information affecting businesses and families in our state.

Technology is revolutionizing the way we communicate, and social media has opened doors to increased accountability in our elected officials. Revolutionizing public information and government efficiency were two of Susan's highest priorities when she took office in 2006. Under her leadership, the Comptroller's office has placed the daily spending of all state agencies online, allowing taxpayers to see first-hand where their money is being spent.

Twitter takes transparency a step further, as citizens can communicate with Susan in real time, directly voicing their concerns and insight. This new technological phenomenon is just one more way “cyber” communication is changing the way politicians are not only sharing their message, but reading opinions, debating and learning from their constituents.
