After the past year of economic hardship, it is easy to forget what is most important in life. I wanted to take a few minutes and share what I am most thankful for this year.
This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my three sons, my daughter in law, my husband Joe, my cat Sweet Pea and my dog, Sophie. They keep me grounded and remind me that there is much joy that comes from being a mother and wife. I am also thankful to live in the greatest country in the world, and for our troops who risk their lives every day to keep us strong and safe. I am grateful to Texans for electing me to have such a rewarding job that allows me to truly make a difference in my beloved home state. Throughout this recession I believe Texas has stayed comparatively strong, and I pray that it continues to get stronger and stronger.
Thank you for electing me as your Comptroller nearly four years ago, so I am able to do the job that I love so much. God Bless you, your family and friends this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Susan
